If Q1 had a theme for the June family, it would be momentum, a little bit of madness, and a whole lot of gratitude. Between business, school, sports, and everyday life, our household has been running at full speed—and somehow enjoying every minute of it.
Building a Scalable Marketing Engine at Barrel O’Monkeyz

On the business front, I’ve been fully immersed in building Barrel O’Monkeyz into a scalable outsourced marketing engine. The focus has sharpened around helping B2B and B2C companies—particularly in the home improvement and sports/active lifestyle space—move from scattered marketing efforts toward more disciplined, revenue-driving systems. It’s been an exciting ride, and I’m genuinely enjoying the process of building something meaningful with strong momentum.
Of course, none of this happens without an incredible team, and I’m grateful every day for Dina Daglas, Travis Perriera, Matt McGovern, Brandi Bronson, Michael Duffy, and Eden Gannon, along with the continued support from Shekhar Vyas.

Mentors, Programs, and Strategic Guidance
I’ve also been fortunate to stay close to some outstanding programs and mentors who continue to challenge and ground me. Chris Martinez and the Bloom Partners Founder Freedom and 90-Day CEO Challenge have been impactful, Frank Cowell’s Revenue Ranch continues to deliver straight, no-nonsense agency guidance, and Corey Quinn’s book Anyone, Not Everyone has become a constant reference point. A nod as well to Casey Stanton from CMOX for helping lay the strategic breadcrumbs along the way.

A Front‑Row Seat to the Future
One of the most exciting highlights this quarter has been working with Custom Robotics of La Jolla and Dave Skillin. From CES to touring Amazon’s latest warehouse facilities, it’s been incredible to get a front-row seat to where robotics, AI, and automation are heading. The future is not coming—it’s already here, and we’re doing our part to help shape how people understand and interact with it.
Soccer Season, Coaching, and Family Chaos

Outside of work, life has been just as full. March kicked off soccer season, and I’ve had the absolute pleasure (and occasional chaos) of coaching all my girls in Lakeside AYSO. There’s nothing quite like being on the sidelines watching them grow, compete, and have fun—especially when the game plan occasionally resembles something we practiced.
I also celebrated another trip around the sun, which I’m choosing to interpret as gaining wisdom rather than just adding candles. On top of that, I’ve been mentoring a young executive through the American Marketing Association here in San Diego and working with Sundoc Studios through San Diego Sports Innovators—an incredibly talented group with a bright future.

The Backbone of the Operation
Sara continues to be the backbone of everything we do. She’s thriving as a PE Teacher at Buena Vista High School and somehow still finds the time and energy to coach JV Girls Beach Doubles Volleyball. She also celebrated another birthday this quarter, doing so with her usual balance of grace, strength, and the ability to keep our entire operation running smoothly—even when the rest of us are doing our best to derail it.
The Kids: Growth, Grit, and Big Wins

Noelline (7) kicked off the quarter by graduating from her speech program, which was a huge milestone and something we’re all incredibly proud of. Not long after, she decided to remind us she’s still Noelline by breaking her arm while showing off her playground skills. True to form, she bounced back quickly, healed up, and didn’t let it slow her down one bit—chaos levels remain high.

McKinley (9) wrapped up her All-Star Soccer U10 season and absolutely loved being part of her teams. This quarter also brought a meaningful chapter for her as she spent 60 days in a special school program and has since returned home with our family. It’s been a very joyful and special time having her back in the daily rhythm of our lives. She has a birthday coming up in early April, and we’re about to enter the double-digit years, which I’m not entirely sure any of us are ready for.

Leland (11) has been crushing it in Advanced Theater, and that hard work led to a pretty amazing milestone—she became the first of our kids to perform at Disneyland. Watching her step into that moment was something we won’t forget anytime soon, and it’s been incredible to see her confidence and passion continue to grow.
Travel, Togetherness, and Spring Break Energy
As a family, we’re looking forward to carving out some time together this year for a proper vacation. The car is ready, now we just need to agree on snacks and a playlist.

In the meantime, Sara and I are looking forward to sneaking away to Idyllwild for a bit of one-on-one time and, of course, finding a way to work in some beach volleyball. Spring break is here, and the announcement that the community pool heater has been turned on might be the biggest win of the season.
A Quarter That Reminds Us Growth Isn’t Linear
All in all, this quarter has been a reminder that growth rarely looks clean, progress isn’t always linear, and the best moments often come in the middle of the chaos. We’re building, learning, adjusting, and doing our best to enjoy the ride as it comes.

Until next time, we’re staying scrappy, staying grateful, and continuing to lean into whatever comes next.
Before I Go …

In Memory: Honoring David Cartwright
The last few months also brought a moment of reflection and loss. I was deeply saddened by the passing of David Cartwright—someone I was fortunate to work with and even more fortunate to call a friend. We shared meaningful time together at both Targus and Mobile Edge, and throughout those years, David was someone I respected not just professionally, but personally. He was steady, thoughtful, and the kind of person who made those around him better.
More than anything, my heart goes out to his family, who truly are some of the best people you could ever meet. I am incredibly thankful for the time we shared, the conversations, and the memories. He will be missed.
With gratitude,
Paul, Sara, Leland, McKinley, and Noelline (“The June Family”)
