The Barrel O’Monkeyz team spends most days deep in the world of marketing strategy, branding, and growth. It’s meaningful work, but it’s not the whole story. We’re also neighbors, parents, friends, and community members. That’s why supporting organizations such as the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) San Diego Chapter matters to us. It’s a reminder that leadership isn’t only about driving results—it’s about showing up for people.
Family Education Day – May 2
This year’s HDSA San Diego Family Education Day is a powerful example of what community looks like in action. Held Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM (check‑in begins at 9:00 AM) at the Marina Village Conference Center, 1936 Quivira Way, San Diego, the event brings together individuals and families impacted by Huntington’s disease for a full day of connection, learning, and shared experience.
Admission is free, and a complimentary lunch is included.
The program offers opportunities to learn about the latest HD and brain research, hear from clinicians, and explore behavioral health, communication strategies, and supportive therapies. Area experts and UCSD’s speech and occupational therapy team provide practical insights for families.
What often resonates most, though, are the human moments—the ice breakers, the small‑group conversations, the shared stories, and the panel featuring community members who speak openly about caregiving, advocacy, and living with HD.
